CEO Message

It is a privilege and honor to lead this group of vibrant and smart research scientist that work tirelessly to contribute towards advancing public health researches in Sub Saharan Africa through implementation science, training and collaborations and capacity building. We are especially proud that we are setting standards for good quality work and attract talented individuals. We have worked with different stakeholders locally (including the government of Tanzania) as well as internationally. We are also to a part of Africa Research Implementation Science and Education (ARISE) network. ARISE is a network of prominent colleagues and collaborators from institutions and organizations across the sub-Saharan Africa region..

Moving forward, we are confident that our efforts and commitment to evidence-based innovative research, training, capacity building and knowledge translation is resulting in relevant, applicable, and timely solutions to public health challenges still facing our communities. Health Systems Research

Conduct and promote use of evidence-based findings in improving wellbeing of the people.

Health System Strengthening

Participate in health system strengthening through training and technical support.

Health Policy

Engage in health policy analysis, formulation and implementation by spearheading dialogs with different stakeholders including government officials and the private sector with the aim to make our community and environment healthier.

Work Together

Engage in partnership and collaboration locally as well as internationally with public and private sectors, learning institutions, NGO’s, funding agencies and civil societies for the purpose of strengthening and complementing our work.

AAPH staff have a wide range of backgrounds and expertise that includes PhD-level researchers, clinicians and masters level researchers trained in public health, global health & nutrition, epidemiology, biostatistics, computer science and data systems.

A number of research projects have been undertaken, including research on nutrition, maternal and neonatal health, tuberculosis, malaria, HIV/AIDS, and other infectious diseases and chronic non-communicable diseases.
